There he stands before the flight,
young, powerful, filled with overweening pride.
Looking from the labyrinth to freedom.
Yet it is the freedom of endless night, the foretaste of ending.
The moon greets him, the darkness waits for him.
But Oh, in his perfect power,
how marvelous will he madly challenge the Gods.
